    Pros

The college offers excellent benefits and as a friendly staff. Part-time schedule is pretty flexible. Campus is beautiful and many improvements going on.

    Cons

Upper management is a bit chaotic. There is a lot of change going on now, and many of the senior staff are transitioning out of the college.

I have been working at New York Medical College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Faculty and people lower down in the ranks are generally pretty good, and care about the students. Location is near several highways, making commuting easy.

    Cons

This is an institution that has lost its moral compass. Upper management have a demonstrated habit of micromanaging and shooting the messenger, benefits for the staff and students are being scaled back, in part due to financial mismanagement by the CEO. Tuition is at the high end among schools, pay is at the low end, and there haven't been raises for two of the last three years "because we don't have enough money." But somehow we're finding money to restore old paintings and hang them on the wall.

    Advice to Management

Sever the relationship with Touro. Things weren't perfect when the college was owned by the Catholic Church, but at least they have morals. Also, invest in your people. Providing covering the cost of tuition for employees who want to take classes at NYMC cost the college nothing, but was a big perk; cutting that back to covering only 25% was a big insult: it looks like you're trying to make money off of your people, rather than invest in them.

    Pros

Friendly staff. Good benefits. This is a perfect place to work if you love working in a quiet environment. The drive is beautiful coming to the campus on a daily basis.

    Cons

There need to be a little more organization and communication between departments. Most departments doesn't really know what the other one does.

    Pros

Many extremely knowledgeable, accomplished and dedicated faculty members. Decent pay and benefits, depending on the position.

    Cons

You're most apt to find the treacherous backbiting that academia is known for in the administration rather than the faculty. The finance department is filled with human misery. The development department is a snake pit. The human resources department is rotten at the core. They're incompetent and they only look out for themselves.

    Advice to Management

Ream out human resources and start over.

I have been working at New York Medical College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Family like atmosphere, people usually help each other, time to time postdocs hang out together

    Cons

No career or salary growth, position instability solely dependend on grant availability, generally everything depends on the PI and his her requirement which you cannot really change

    Advice to Management

Should care more about postdocs and their positions and salaries since whole research is dependent on them and their hard work, thus they should be appreciated more. There should be uniform rules regarding postdoc salaries and benefits and working schedule which PIs should strictly follow.
