    Pros

Most of the people who work there are wonderful and great to work with.

    Cons

Horrible pay. Horrible senior management. The company seems to be caught between the family-feel they've had for so many years and the corporate direction they are moving in now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees like they're valuable, not replaceable.

    Pros

Of all the part time positions available at Yankee Stadium, working in the ticket office is probably one of the best. Decent pay and you get a certain amount of comp tickets per year. Coworkers are good, fun people to be around. Work schedule is flexible.

    Cons

Depending on the amount of games, your check will fluctuate. It also seem that management plays favorites. Not much room for advancement, you have to know someone (or be friends with the director). Most positions are already filled before they are posted to the public. Finally, because this is the Yankees (everyone wants to work there) , you're very replaceable. Other people value you working for the Yankees more than the Yankees do themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Times are changing and so is your fan base. Trying adapting to these factors and people will continue to come.

    Pros

Great resume booster, opens many doors,

    Cons

Long work hours, tense work environment, unhappy employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tear down the divisions between the upper floor and sales floor for a more cohesive work environment. For some reason there was always this felt resentment of the ticket sales teams from other departments that made the work environment tense. For example if you had a question that needed to be presented to a different department, rather than just picking up the phone and asking you had to tell your manager the question and then rely on he/she to get the answer. It was like playing "telephone" when you were a kid.
Another piece of advice is to be better at problem solving and communication with employees. If you were dissatisfied with something work related then it was understood that you couldn't bring it to your managers. Sales managers felt that if you had a problem with anything they could just find someone to replace you rather than try to solve the problem. Since this was known most sales & service employees would rather keep their mouth shut, not try to change anything, and use the Yankees as a way to open many doors for future careers outside of the Yankees.

Former Employee - Ticket Seller, Customer Service Representative in Bronx, NY

    Pros

You get to say you work at the New York Yankees, have access to tickets (to purchase!) including playoffs

    Cons

You have to work long hours for or very little pay, you are treated like a nobody while the upper management thinks very highly of themselves

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lose the cockiness! Give your employees some incentive. Help employees move up or find a better job at another firm.
