I worked at New York Yankees (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great pay, treated great, paid to play a game. Organization spares no expense to put a good product on the field though sometimes (or often) investments don't work out.

    Cons

Always in the public eye, no privacy ever.

I worked at New York Yankees

    Pros

The powerful brand name and perceived status of employees

    Cons

Better grow up on the Upper East Side in a wealthy family to get a job here

I have been working at New York Yankees as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

brand name recognition, you get to work in yankee stadium

    Cons

inefficient management, people don't seem to like their jobs very much, and people are generally not too bright

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

communicate more with each other - while I was working there I was assigned a project only to find out someone else was given the same exact project, and we were not told to coordinate...clearly two different managers had the same task and had no idea.

I worked at New York Yankees full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Putting on the pinstripes every day was amazing. There are knowledgeable coaches and there is a great support staff in place.

    Cons

Long hours, bus rides, field conditions made home games a roll of the dice whether we would play or not.

I have been working at New York Yankees full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

They're the Yankees. It's appealing to everyone BUT yourself after you spend a year here.

    Cons

Salary - you make less the more you work. Time off - you work every game, and if homestands end on weekends, you're expected back Monday morning, first thing. 80 hour weeks are normal. There are no comp. days. If you don't like it, they'll find someone who will.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no advice you can hand to the management of this organization, because they have gone through more HR directors in the past decade than any other company of its kind. The HR directors come in with goals, and try to accomplish a great deal, and never do.

I worked at New York Yankees full-time

    Pros

Most of the people who work there are wonderful and great to work with.

    Cons

Horrible pay. Horrible senior management. The company seems to be caught between the family-feel they've had for so many years and the corporate direction they are moving in now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees like they're valuable, not replaceable.
