I worked at New york Foundling full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They understand that you have a personal life ..they are ok with you taking time for medical appointments. .things like that

    Cons

I worked there and at first everyone seemed nice and like a family. Well that was wrong people in high position where having personal relationships with the people they supervised,..they allowed them to not do work and asked the workers in Lower positions to complete the work. They dislike Latinos, yes you will see latinos working there but it's because they place them in position that won't allow them to grow. When they do "promote" some is not because they can do the job is because they like you and feel you will follow orders without asking. For someone to move up in that company you must brown nose , have inappropriate relationshipa, be a follower, malicioso, and not be a leader .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    They must clean house..

I have been working at New york Foundling as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The employees are a breath of fresh air in the cold, large city. They all are fantastic individuals that work hard to do wonderful things for the non-profit. Everyone has a life outside of work and they definitely support the happiness of their employees.

    Cons

Sometimes communication can be challenging with different departments, but they are all so understanding and everything can be achieved with an extra email or asking other sources of information.

    Pros

Working with underprivileged kids and families

    Cons

NYF does not promote minorities, it is not what you know but who you know. Upper management doesn't have a black or hispanic person in it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

please treat people the same and stop just hiring white people into supervisor roles
