I worked at Newedge Group full-time for more than a year
Pros – The environment is very laid back. Most employees are friendly and nice and easy to work with.
Cons – No career path if you are not French or do not speak French. The whole management is too young and very arrogant.
Decisions from management is not consistent most of the time, making the employees very confused at all time.
Advice to Senior Management – Be consistent with the decisions and do not keep changing every year.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Newedge Group
Pros – Friendly coworkers in my department.
Cons – The biggest issue was the work was not challenging nor did managers try to motivate their employees. Never felt like there was a clear path to success.

Pros – NONE - Place is full of idiots that got jobs because they knew someone.. Most people in Chicago office don't even have a degree, lots of trash from the CBOT/CME.
Cons – Managers are probably the worst in history, HR is a JOKE!!! No Upward mobility, Company is falling apart more everyday... Everyone hates working there... I had the worst bosses in the world, a piece of work, everyone avoided her like the plague and still maintains to hold her job.. .. People come and go! Best decision in my life was to leave this miserable place DO NOT WORK HERE!!!
Advice to Senior Management – Fire all bad managers....

I have been working at Newedge Group full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Reading these reviews I nearly laughed out loud here at work when I read the "Manage your destiny" review. Yes, that's from a senior executive in management who would recite that same line over and over to us at our meetings. So, the pro is this; at least he's consistently sending the same message (even if I believe that it's major b.s.).
Cons – Nearly everything you can think of in a bad job is present at Newedge; other offices and people do not like Americans and the Chicago office; decreasing benefits year over year; outsourcing/offshoring; a-players leave, c-players stay; just an overall below average place to work.
Advice to Senior Management – Meh, I doubt they seriously consider advice.

Pros – at newedge you have no limits in term of growth, you'll be challenged for sure, but if your talent and your conviction are great, no limits, you'll rule the world.
Cons – If you are confortable in a bureaucratic environment, if you don't like changes and challenges, not a place for you
Advice to Senior Management – keep the faith, change is a journey not an act

I have been working at Newedge Group
Pros – There are a lot of really great people. Most are dedicated and professional. It's also a very diverse group, fun to work with.
Cons – It's rather haphazardly run. Sometimes it's every silo for itself. Overall the benefits are good, but the time off seems below industry standards.
Advice to Senior Management – Put the emphasis on quality, not dates. Practice the core values, don't just preach them. And try to stabilize the organization, don't constantly reorganize. Sometimes we cross the line from dynamic to chaotic.

I have been working at Newedge Group
Pros – Newedge’s business model is perfectly positioned in the current regulatory environment. The firm is an agency model, so all this talk about the Volker Rule doesn’t impact Newedge. They’re already set up to not front run their clients. I think when the dust settles on financial reforms, this firm is going to light it up.
As a broker, there are some great opportunities to make money. Management is open to new ideas and encourages and rewards cross-selling as much if not more than any one else on the street. There are a lot of talented people there, both in the front office and the back office. If you have any ambition at all (which I’m not sure all of the other reviewers have), you’d enjoy working at Newedge.
Cons – The company is two years removed from a merger. So there are still systems being integrated and processes being worked through. That slows things down for client approvals, etc. The financial crisis also has forced Newedge to take a closer look at capital consumption. So it’s not as easy to get them to roll the dice with you on a small client like it was in the past.
There are a lot of other cons listed on this site, but I think anyone who has gone through a similar merger as I have , would view things differently. There have been some changes in management at the top level, so there are some adjustments. But the core team is still in place. Think of it, what other organization like Newedge still has their CEO in place after going through 2008 and 2009. I think that says a lot for Patrice Blanc.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep working to have the firm fully integrated. Get people fully focused on the needs of clients. Stay on the leading edge when it comes to financial reform.
