    Pros

Some people, mainly on the digital floor are nice work with.

    Cons

Antiquated view of digital publishing. By the time editors understand the benefits of a digital product we may in the next millennium. Self serving environment which only protects those in power.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your team, their are actually people who know a little about digital.

I worked at News Corp full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Always the people make the place worth while. They did have a flexible working model and were trying to improve the culture

    Cons

Homophobic and misogynistic. At the time managers had a blind eye approach if they were not directly involved. There was a lot of upheaval with an organisation that was undergoing transformation. However their appeared to be a self serving approach from senior management at the time. Very little support for innovation or progressive business approaches

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue on the path of transformation but exercise integrity with your words and actions. It will create a cohesive and productive working environment if you stop the sabotage to protect your possitions.

I worked at News Corp full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I worked with a lot of great people who we're really talented and committed. I learned from my peers while I was there.

    Cons

Projects went from super important and urgent to not as important as the next shiny thing.
I didn't learn from senior management or get much support during the tough times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support your staff to be their best.

    Pros

Few to none.... tHIS COMPANY WITH dIRECtv IS NOT A GOOD eXPERIENCE....

    Cons

As reference to their DirecTV account, the initial training is adequate. But then they dump immediately into what they call "nesting", which is live calls with what is very minimal, and inadequate support. If you fail to meet their AHT (Average Handle Times). you are let go. I do not recommend this company under any circumstances...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove your "nesting", and build a side-by_side program with an experienced agent. This will increase your new agent retention by an amazing amount...

    Pros

nothing really I hate every thing there

    Cons

It is very political environment, they are not professional and can't handle any criticism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be fair and honest. Also get rid of your current middle management team, there are not good and all the employees know about that. I've not heard anything but bad stuff from people who are working there.

    Pros

Global company with lots of opportunities.

    Cons

If you get an obnoxious stuck up management, which a lot of them are, your hard working days are taken for granted, you are just another number in that case.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need management change heads of upwards. People under are not valued. Culture is really demoralizing.

I have been working at News Corp full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Your colleagues will be some of the best journalists in the business. There are many offices around the world, and it's fairly easy to get a posting anywhere you want (especially if you speak the language, but that's not necessary in many cases). The brand name is known almost everywhere. If you want to do your work and clock out, you can do that. If you want to do your work and then keep working ridiculous hours without compensation, you can do that. I learned a lot about politics.

    Cons

Politics. Secrecy. Did I mention politics? You learn to play the game, which is a plus if you want to play the game. There's little management training or support, so unqualified managers are left trying to make sense of the mess. It's a news business that thinks it's adjusted to the digital age.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Real management training. Better compensation. Openness.

    Pros

Great money, young people, good opportunity to learn to multi-task while under pressure.

    Cons

Team leaders don't understand the systems and crm tools enough to problem solve when a DSP has a serious issue that could prevent an advertising campaign being booked.

    High school environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train the team leaders in the contact center to use all of the booking systems so that a DSP has a reliable helper available rather than someone just monitoring call KPIs
