    Pros

Really smart people. They have talented young people that really try to understand the business in order to make the right product.

    Cons

Business/Sr. Management do not have a focus. Everything seems all over the place. Try to build everything and see if it sticks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at NexJ Systems full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay was average, as were the benefits. You do get to learn a good deal about other industries. Employees include some very highly regarded technical people.

    Cons

All divisions of the company are not integrated--you often feel like you are working with a completely different company when you are really under the same umbrella. If you are not an Application Developer or Product Owner, they company views you differently, both in compensation and respect.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I always learned that part of management was to not only run an operation but also develop employees. If you do not invest time or energy into developing your employees, you certainly will not receive a return on an investment in the future. Employee career development is almost non-existent.

I worked at NexJ Systems as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Energetic and passionate people
    - Opportunities to grow
    - Small to medium size company environment, most people know each other
    - Hires many co-ops

    Cons

    - They expect you to work very hard, but offer little incentive to do so, other than a promise that the company will do well in the future... if you work hard!
    - Salary is average.
    - Technology used is very old, and software stack, as well as tools, are full of bugs. A lot of development time is wasted on fixing bugs and working around tools.
    - Non-job-related co-op experience is mediocre for a company with such a large co-op program. Seems like a lot of them are just hired for cheap QA positions

    Pros

It is located right at the subway and near to go station.

    Cons

Long work hours at least 10 hours each day. Management does not recognize your hard work. Design reviews are joke. If you can yell and be little others only then you can survive in this company. No role of HR, managers yell at employees. Employee who spent more years in this company is basically your boss. You will be treated as a fresher even if you have 10 years of experience. Too much micromanagement. Managers lie about everything. It would be difficult to find next job because of technology used "Scheme". There is no work life balance. Unless you are in a very very very tough position don't consider this company. I will never ever recommend this company to my friends.

    Pros

    Many smart intelligent coworkers
    Unlimited starbucks bold coffee

    Cons

The base framework and company structure was poorly created (was created a long time ago, with technologies that no longer exist now, hence has a 'patchwork' feel to it)
    At times, long work hours
Transitioning from a startup mentality to a larger enterprise

    Cons

Long work hours, No over time pay and no employee appreciation activity. Long term strategy is not very clear.
