    Pros

Previous leaders ensured your success. Rewarded well for hard and smart work. Engaged in community volunteerism. Good education programs for leaders.

    Cons

Shareholder value is high; hardly any short term goals. Certain management created divides for self goals. Work-life balance has not improved and has worsened. Hardly able to take a vacation.

    Pros

Opportunity to try with new technology. Learning opportunity

    Cons

Promotion are delayed. No opportunity to grow in the business. Salary is good at the beginning but then is not equal after some years due prmotion are not rated on time. Some managers does not care about the employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention on performance and PIP revision. Manager must be evaluated by employees as well. 360 evaluation must be activated in all levels including directors.

I have been working at NextEra Energy, Inc. full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Entry-level salaries are good. Annual performance bonus is a good perk. Nature of work is rewarding and challenging.

    Cons

Starting salaries are good but annual raises are inadequate. Pay raises are based on your managers assessment of you (if they like you or not) and not your performance. Perception is key to moving up, otherwise growth opportunities are non-existent. Senior management has alienated employees with Project Momentum. Project momentum was company initiative to cut labor force and outsource jobs, along with other cost cutting measures to improve company. Company culture is one of nepotism and hypocrisy. They also constantly push an LGBT agenda on employees; something that I found offensive and disrespectful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay for performance policy should be updated to be more transparent and more objective. Yearly employee evaluations should be based on more clearly defined metrics. Compensation structure and pay increases should be changed to reflect position, nature of work and cost of living increases and other economic factors.

I have been working at NextEra Energy, Inc. full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Based on my experience in Information Management:
Competitive pay package for Mid to Senior positions. Employees can participate in a 401K with a fair match, and are part of a pension at no cost. Many employees will also be offered a merit based bonus. If you work hard and people notice you will become very marketable and find ease in moving around; many positions offered internally. There are thousands of very smart people, and the company is very culturally diverse. NextEra has hundreds of different areas in which one can seek opportunities (Wind, IT, Acct, Nat Gas, Fracking, Nuclear, Power Generation, etc.) and many locations (Florida, Spain, Canada, New Hampshire, Houston, etc.).

    Cons

The pay is based on average performers in the market, so it's not as competitive as in other companies. Upper management is at times disconnected from their employees. Some of the goals are set to levels that, while not impossible, are improvable to achieve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Engage in more activities with your employees. C-level management needs to be more in touch with each functional group, and not only when stuff hits the fan.

Keep up the low risk approach to new ventures and keep growing the low emissions portfolio.

I worked at NextEra Energy, Inc. as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Matt Fuller is probably the best manager I've ever worked with in my (rather extensive) career.

    Cons

The company has some political intrigue, and, like all large companies, there are some folks you'd just as soon not have to deal with, but that's true of just about anywhere, so it's not really something to hold against NextEra in particular.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you believe a project is important enough to highlight it to the rest of the company, it probably deserves an annual budget somewhat larger than $100k when it has a long list of unfinished and/or much-desired features, wouldn't you say?
