I worked at NextGen Realty full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Lot of listings, some training, some guidance. Open door policy generally. Good marketing service. You get to see multiple aspects of real estate as an agent.

    Cons

Takes a lot of work to develop your sales skills unless your natural. so I would have spent more time learning sales and less time spinning wheels as many do at the company. Competitive coworkers who may take your clients.

    Pros

Flexible schedule, comfortable working environment, nice people. You can learn a lot about the field in a short period. Work harder and get more.

    Cons

If you want to get enough commission fee, you have to sacrifice your normal life. Get phone calls anytime and everywhere. This is how they do real estate.

I have been working at NextGen Realty full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The resources of the database are second to none for a real estate professional. I, personally, have always felt that management has my back. Never once was I given direction that at the end of the day was not meant to further my earning potential. The company is always pushing forward with technologies especially for an independent, non-franchised, place. It really is impressive. The office has a good vibe most days as they strive to have a team oriented approach to a very individualistic, self-serving, industry.

    Cons

Obviously, being in real estate one has to make their own schedule. This can be a blessing but can also be a curse because you have to be very self-driven.

In depth training to prepare you for all aspects of the job.
Use of technology in listings database, ad-making software, and company owned websites.

    Cons

Setting your own hours means you are required to be very self-motivated.
    Parking can be tough.
