I have been working at NexxLinx full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Go with the flow, the call flow, yes you will have some angry customers, don't take it personally, seriously, you are receiving phone calls all day long, yes its busy, yes its hectic but its a job, and if you have a good attitude, it won't be as bad as people say. If you can't handle the job, don't accept the job offer.

    Cons

Well it is stressful at times, and scheduling of agents needs to work a little better. Too many agents come in end of day and have no computer to sit at. Doesn't make sense but it will get worked out I'm sure, it always does

    Pros

I would say that working on the Opentable contract is like working with family. It was a wonderful contract, very supportive.

    Cons

Sometimes management didn't know what was going on and the stupid Nexxphase kept going down.

Poor hiring decisions and low morale on TWC

    I worked at NexxLinx

    Pros

Due to exceedingly low morale, there's very high turnover for TWC retention - and so they're always hiring. Got a pulse? You're hired!

    Cons

Expectations constantly change, there's no consistency to quality assurance mandates, and mandatory overtime gets called on a regular basis since - ironically! - the TWC retention department can't retain agents. Everyone with a half-decent brain is going to Verizon, because biweekly "cookouts" are no substitute for being treated like a human being. It's well-known that management is having such difficulty holding onto people that they just yesterday demanded all their (admittedly salaried) supervisors work a full shift on the phones on a Saturday, regardless of whether or not they had pre-approved vacation time or a scheduled day off - the only incentive being punishment by way of firing if you don't show up. All this in addition to a new dress code that'll require all lower-level employees to dress in "business casual" within a month - as if people working for $8.50 and $9.00/hr have money to spend on clothes suited for jobs that pay twice as much! If you're reading this and thinking of applying to the TWC retention contract in Orono, just run. Run for the hills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seriously, get a grip and stop biting off more than you can chew. Don't take on higher call volume until you have a sufficient number of *qualified* agents to handle the workload. Stop treating the quality people you *do* have like idiots, and definitely stop making demands that take away people's scheduled vacation days, as that's a real morale-killer. To the HR department: shame on you. Can't find enough qualified agents? Then don't hire the dregs of humanity! Unless you *like* hemorrhaging trained agents, in which case great job, keep it up.

    Pros

they hire just about ANYBODY which is almost a godsend to anyone looking for a job willing to do anything.

    Cons

it's high school all over again with a whip, time warner contracts leave you in a customer service roles basically telling customers that they are sol. Time warner companies make a crap load of money you will never get but you will definitely be responsible for gaining them. also based on call volume... there is a time you will realize that working for a fast food chain will earn you more money over time

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop barking and actually help people. Also get better contracts so you don't have to deal with such an irate/melancholy work environment. Or work closely with drug rehab centers so you can employ people that are ok with running scams all day long. *cough* I meant... LEGAL scams..

    Pros

Full time hours , slightly good pay.

    Cons

The call flow is too heavy at times , anybody is hired no matter their background. Leads and supervisors sit on their rear ends all day and do nothing , and do not like helping others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Newburgh Nexxlinx really needs to be looked over . . & they wonder why they lose employees left and right. Who would want to work for a place so unprofessional ?

    Unethical management and slave wages

I worked at NexxLinx full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    *Easy to get hired
    *Good coworkers and supervisors
*Rarely had to deal with angry or difficult customers on this contract

I did work with some great people, and the site manager for the contract did his best to improve conditions. The work wasn't bad, and this was the best contract in the building.

    Cons

    *Low pay
    *Few advancement opportunities
    *Poor scheduling, difficult to adjust
    *Getting time off was difficult
*Almost no benefits to part-time employees
*Sick pay and vacation time not paid after resignation or temination

When the contract I was employed for was cancelled (suddenly and without warning), they mishandled communication of this occurrence and provided few options to the dozens of agents whose positions were about to disappear. More than once they outright lied about the situation, and it was evident they had no intention to provide compensation or similar positions elsewhere in the building. This was absolutely the worst job I have had thus far, and it was largely because of Nexxlinx's unethical and inhumane policies.

Morale was low in every contract, most work there out of desperation. Absolutely avoid working here until you have exhausted all other options. With this contract gone, there are no contracts worth selling one's soul and sanity for a pittance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If we were treated as valuable assets rather than disposable warm bodies and given decent pay and benefits the contract could have provided top notch technical support. It is no surprise they lost the contract to another company in Costa Rica. Some agents had been there for 5+ years and were still earning their starting wage despite being capable tenured agents. As it stands there was no motivation to remain in this position unless one had no other options. Treating employees with some modicum of respect would be a good start.
