I have been working at Nickelodeon full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is solid, benefits are fantastic. Work-life balance is very much encouraged. Most people are in around 9 and out by 5:30. Never asked to do something you aren't capable of performing.

    Cons

General big company issues, such as office politics and inefficiency. Most people here are hard workers and do their jobs but there are a few people who seem happy to sit on what they have and defend against people asking why they aren't doing more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing really to note. There are a few people who could use someone pushing them to improve their side of the business but overall the company runs smoothly.

I have been working at Nickelodeon full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I have had nothing but great experiences working at Nick. They generally take care of their employees and really focus on getting input from many sources.

    Cons

Sometimes decision making is lagged with the feedback loop being so large, but in the end we often get great decisions.

I have been working at Nickelodeon full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They give you plenty of time off, competitive benefits, and there is a great work from home policy if you make it known it is important to you. There's a gym for $12/month that offers classes before, during and after work and on the same floor is a subsidized cafeteria and professional HP print center that you get $100 credit towards each year. The work environment is very relaxed and the people here are amazing! I've been working here for 3 years and most people I know have been here for 5-10+. They also offer great tuition reimbursement if your looking to get a part-time graduate degree, and they offer free access to all Lynda.com training classes which I've utilized a ton and it's be very beneficial.

    Cons

The corporate atmosphere is very political and almost feels like a high school popularity contest as opposed to a multi-billion dollar business. Seems like the entry level employees get paid pretty poorly here so I wouldn't recommend this as your first job. And it seems the only way to move up quickly is to leave and come back. Hard work doesn't seem to get noticed much and the only way to make yourself known is to produce concise power point decks and get them infront of the right people on a regular basis. Promotions tend to be more right place right time here unless you threaten to leave, but if you looking for an easy going, comfy job with security this place is perfect.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are good and bad managers here like anywhere else, but as I said the place can be very political and job title tends to be the only thing people care about. Given the opportunity, I would ask management here to focus less on employee level and more on the employee's contribution and continued growth in the company. Giving coordinators and managers more respect, reconginzing their contributions, and giving them a larger voice in the company or at least within their respective departments.

I worked at Nickelodeon as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Really comfortable work environment, great staff, nice balance of direction and self-motivation, valuable work experience. Best summer ever!

    Cons

Big, conservative company so there is bureaucracy when it comes to getting things done and making changes. Cubicles, so less collaborative than if there were an open floor plan

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more involved and easer to communicate, aware of what is going on within the company, but for the most part was great.
