I have been working at Nickelodeon Suites Resort

    Pros

There isn't really anything positive to say about this place. Can't wait til I can find better

    Cons

Management sucks, dysfunctional hotel, nasty ghetto trash clientele, power struggles galore

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cater towards less trash and more upscale families and update the hotel, it looks like the 1980s threw up all over it.

    Pros

Workplace environment, Friendly co-workers, Cheap Meals, Paid on a weekly basis, Work with families on vacation

    Cons

Employment at will, The points systems which you have to monitor yourself, low pay (especially if you have little experience working for hotels and employee favoritism and nepotism,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold housekeepers responsible for carts and cleaning supplies at end of shift, Inform employees that absences over hospitalization periods (even if documented) count as point deductions and eventually job termination.

I have been working at Nickelodeon Suites Resort full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a fun place to work. You work with a lot of great people from different diversities and backgrounds. HR does a lot of stuff for the employees to keep the job fun and make you feel special.

    Cons

Things don't run too smoothly behind the scenes. There are lots of issues that occur for the guest that makes us all look bad and we are always trying to make it up to the guest. Communication between departments is a huge cause of these issues. The employee discounts could be a little better as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication between departments, listen to your employees more and help them feel appreciated.

    Pros

It is a company the love it's employees and will go out of its way to make them feel like their family.

    Cons

The problem I would say is some of the upper management and the way they run things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think more about the hotel as a whole and not as the sum of its parts

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
