“Good place to work but don't think too much about it or you'll go crazy.”
Former Employee – worked at Ninth House
Pros – This place seems to have limitless funding, albeit feast and famine. There is a great desire to 'do good' and provide almost fantastic experiences for users, great use of new technologies without pushing it too far. If you say the right things and demonstrate progress on assigned work then its a great place to be.
Cons – There is a lot of 'we know what the customer needs', more than 'we know what the customer wants'. Saying the right things usually gets rewarded more than doing the right things. There is a problem of leadership praising performance that looks good and causes minimal angst rather than praising work that does good even when it's about the customer.
Advice to Senior Management – Give up the ego and start running a business.
