A company with great potential, greatly hindered by the executive suite.

    Pros

There are a lot of smart, hard-working people there.

    Cons

Aggressive micromanagement, by an owner who is clearly out of his depth, and is clueless about how his company is perceived by the broker community at large.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your own way. Take responsibility for your actions. Your product is nothing special... improving your service levels, and actually communicating with your clients is the only path to growth. But remaining in denial or continually throwing people under the bus? Um. No. All that does is further your already-tarnished reputation within the industry.

    Pros

Friday summer work hours and a few decent people working there

    Cons

Everything else. Most departments are thinly staffed, so most people are overworked, stressed and all that management cares about is getting as much out of their employees as they can at the lowest cost to them.
Management drives a hurry up and wait culture for no reason. The term "urgent" is used in a regular basis, so you are forced to constantly leave things half done so you can move to handle the next big thing until something more urgent comes up.
There was no communication from management whatsoever after the lay-off that happened last August, mentioned by other poster. This kept people wondering whether they were going to be next and sent morale to the floor.

    Advice to Management

Hire adequately and treat your people with respect.

    Pros

You get a paycheck and some experience.

    Cons

The micromanaging of the new management is a joke. They expect you to work the amount of 4 fulltime workers and pay you less than the industry average. They went through a HUGE layoff last August, not because of a shrinking workload. They did it because the CEO, COO and other bosses wanted to make their pockets fatter. They expect you to work through your lunch, to put in over 50 hours a week, etc. The workload is unbearable, the paycheck is minimal, and I won't get into the unethical way they treat their employees. Do not think about working here!

    Advice to Management

Get it together. Appreciate your hard workers and they'll stop leaving!
