I have been working at Nissan Forklift

    Pros

Smaller Company, Co-Workers are nice. Atmosphere is very laid back. Product is somewhat exciting. Location is close to Chicago but not too far.

    Cons

No Career Advancement. Raises are minimal, Pay is below market. No Recognition if a good job is done. Sometimes Japan controls more of the design than you'd like. No Real Engineering Evaluation and testing plan.

I worked at Nissan Forklift as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

    -Decent pay
-no problem with hiring once you're out of college
    -decent people working there
-perfect if you're those workaholic types with no personal-life

    Cons

-LONG HOURS, at least 10 hour shifts. They always start at 5 am even on normal 8-hour shifts (normal shifts would be 6am-2:30pm) Management can be sadistic and add more work once you're almost done. Even worse if you live further away.
    -faulty equipment
-stressful, you come in tired, you leave tired
-Say goodbye to your personal life/hobbies/etc once you begin working here, no work/life balance
    -Very repetitive work

The only two things that separate this job and a job at a sweatshop are the pay and safety.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is not always perfect. Please understand that employees are human beings and not machines. It's not always the employee's fault if he/she is stressed, especially if he/she is being made to work 10+ shifts everyday that begin very early in the morning.

    Excellent company with great people.

    Cons
