Nissan Rotational Development Program (NRDP) for MBA grads is no good

Senior Manager (Former Employee) Nashville, TN

ProsTier 1 automotive OEM with global reach, great products.

ConsCaustic culture, with a lot of infighting, rumors and rivalries. It's notable that the stock has been flat for 5 years, even as the industry has surged. This is also an anti-MBA culture. In the 14 years since the MBA rotational program has been in existence, not a single individual has made VP level in spite of stellar performances. Top performers are often held down to make room for others who are loyal to the HR department, which is headed by someone with an anger management problem. If you're going to devote your passions to a company, you might want to find one that is more open and progressive.

Advice to Senior ManagementTime to modernize, rebuild the culture and embrace talent.

Good place to gain experience but you won't grow, career vision process is a joke.

Business/Systems Analyst (Current Employee) Franklin, TN

ProsJob stability, car benefits for higher ups, paid holiday shutdown

ConsCareer growth is slow and is not worth staying if that's important.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize and reward talent or you will lose it and will always be a dull IT shop with limited creativity at best.

IS Department - Good People - Overwhelming Process

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros95% of the people on staff are fantastic. The work is good and the hours are not obnoxious. There is good engagement from management

ConsProcess is overwhelming. There is a lot of opportunity that is lost due to unchecked process. Furthermore there are people who rule the process roost with an iron fist. These people are left unchecked and puts true efficiency and engagement at risk

Advice to Senior ManagementDo 360 reviews with all Sr. Manager and above. You have some folks who are leading teams into the ground

What started out as a great opportunity, turned into a cultural nightmare of being just another number in a corporation.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

    ProsThe vehicle lease car benefits

ConsYou are just a number. No one cares how hard you work or how long you have dedicated yourself to the company. They just want to hit their number every month, no matter the sacrifice. And if you hit that number, there is no big thank you, just a let's do better next month.

Advice to Senior ManagementTalk to your employees; monthly meetings, walk around and get to know them.

    Limited opportunities offered to interns

    Internship (Former Employee) Franklin, TN

ProsDecent pay for internship. Provide access to multiple business units.

ConsNo assistance from HR on how to identify job opportunities post-internship. Heavily bureaucratic organization.

Advice to Senior ManagementAttempt to actually recruit your interns, especially those who are graduate students.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
