Pros
Excellent benefits
Upper management great to work with
Can't beat the work hours (well sometimes)
Management pays well, not so as an hourly
ability to move within the company with relocation paid
Cons
inconsistent communication between marketing and stores
brand merging issues causing product conflict
only stable job is a GM
turnover rate too high
Advice to Senior Management
Please look closely to the financials before moving all of Noah's into the Einstein brand. Noah's has a very community based atmosphere with clientele who would not support a transition to Einstein
Pros
Flexible schedule, good hours, meet lots of great people. Opportunity for personal growth. Experience running a legitimate business in a retail environment.
Cons
Corporate management felt that they knew better than anyone else what was best for their franchisees. Never took into consideration suggestions from the people in the trenches. Menu was too large, food costs too high, support was minimal.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your franchisees. They are the ones that are out there every day working the system. If they are telling you something isn't working, help them fix it. Stop being a follower and start being a leader in the QSR category.
Pros
Free bagels
good hours for the industry
livablebenefits
A good store manager will make the store nice to work at
Cons
Constant change in the corporate standards make longevity within the company difficult.
A bad or cruel manager can turn the job into a living hell
The pay isn't increasing, but the work is
Benefits downgraded the last three years straight
Bonuses almost completely eliminated
Constant cost cutting in labor hours and food quality
Low Morale
Advice to Senior Management
For the love of all that is good, stop tinkering with what worked! The customers can taste how cheap we've gotten, the good employees are leaving for greener pastures, and your firing your best producers for taking care of thier customers instead of the catering department. It looks like one big cluster____ from the store level.
Pros
great product
keeps up with time with changes in product
Cons
once you build a store's reputation, mngmt come in and pushed you out. puts ou in a store that will close son, brings in friend and works in area of store you built up.
frabricates documents in employee files. Always check your - it's our right.
Advice to Senior Management
stop playing games and give people credit for what they contribute. don't put good people in stores that are on the brink of closure.
Pros
Consistent pay check, decent health benefits, reasonable hours for a restaurant operations, good entail concept, middle management growth obtainable for most
Cons
long hours, ever changing bonus plan to eliminate as much payouts as possible, the consent changing in direction of company, poor management and planning, corporate office is discontented with employees and customers.
Advice to Senior Management
do your market research before bringing change, learn how to execute roll outs with more consideration to production, increase numbers allocated to labor expense
Pros
the other employees were great, most of the managers were very nice, and i loved talking to the customers. it was just a pretty laid-back job.
Cons
pays minimum wage to starting employees, no matter previous experience.
usually schedules too few hours to employees.
expected 2 employees to close and clean everything up within 45 minutes-1 hour....making everything a little rushed at closing.
Advice to Senior Management
i think everything is pretty decent there, but maybe schedule people enough hours, and not just like 8 hours a week.
Pros
-Brainless work
-Time off often granted
I'm a long time employee and other than the two things above I have no other positive things to say about Noah's...I don't even know why I'm still working for such a horrible corporation.
Cons
-Very uneducated employees that do not care about anyone at all
-Horrible communication between managers and also their superiors
-Bad pay
-Raises hardly ever given
Overall this company shows complete disregard for all employees including management and treats you like you are worthless
Advice to Senior Management
Maybe if you treated your employees like humans your business would actually perform well. Managers have horrible training and have no idea how to do their job but obviously you don't know how either.
