I have been working at Nokia full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Chance to grow professionally, make your own decisions, meet many people from all walks of life. Challenging opportunity.
Cons – Management is lost, if someone does not work out, get rid of them instead of loosing months on worthless re-organizational changes. Cut the dead weight at the top, you have a bunch of loosers on the payroll and have cut many of the people that can make the company come back.
Advice to Senior Management – Move to include Android, ASAP!!!! Get rid of the dead managers that are pulling you down.

I worked at Nokia full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – - Ability to control your own destiny; lots of responsibility with equal authority
- Share in successes with good bonus plan
- Excellent internal communication on strategy
- Liberal vacation and time off policy
- Mobile/Global work force
- Well stated value system
- Took care of their employees very well in the decline
Cons – - Wrong strategic choices caused significant market share declines
- Endless layoffs lead to fragmented processes with unknown process owners
- Old management had their own vision of what mobile should be which didn't coincide with the trade customer's vision
Advice to Senior Management – Not that this applies to the current environment, but lessons learned:
- Listen to employees - when they say "we need flip and touch", do it
- De-centralize R&D and Sourcing to be able to design for unique customer and regional requirements

I have been working at Nokia full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – The work environment is very flexible, there are also work from home days that can be agreed. Salary and benefits are very competative.
Cons – IT has just recently been outsourced so there are limited career options here in that field. The company is still struggling with profitability so there may be future headcount reductions in the future.
Advice to Senior Management – Change management must be planned much better in the future and there should be a planned localization strategy for these changes.

I worked at Nokia full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Nokia treats you very well. The company solicits and examines your input for improving the work environment. Nokia builds solid products that add value to the industry. I would work for them again without a second thought.
Cons – My particular position required about 75% travel. I was away from home quite a lot.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing what you are doing. When a company treats employees in the manner Nokia treats theirs, it creates a loyalty that cannot be broken down. Thanks for a great 7 years.
