A company with a multitude of interesting technical career possibilities, but also career risks due to frequent layoffs.

I worked at Nokia Networks full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - If you are e.g. a technical R & D person and love that kind of work, there are many kinds of interesting projects available.

    Cons

    - The layoffs in general and especially after mergers can ruin your career. The products sold are big in size, and require a lot of personnel to build. Therefore, when the personnel is every now and then reduced, you have very little chances of continuing e.g. as an entrepreneur in the same business, but you may be forced to start your career all over, especially if you have been a R&D person.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - In general , the organizational developments have recently been gradually for the better, but try to still plan with more long term view when dealing with the workforce, so that they can work in a more confident view to their career.

I worked at Nokia Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good knowledge base, good people, good products

    Cons

You need to know people to stay at your job. Unfortunately, connection is more important than who you are or what you know. Little "mafias" exist here and there, specially with the latest top management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many many wrong decisions made, specially in the middle east region. As a reult, lay offs, you lost many good people to the competition. Such a pitty, poor management.
