Advice to Senior Management
to recruit staff with local experiance & to be transperant
Pros
Unexpected Eid Bonuses were a plus, as was dental coverage. Location of the head offices, which was first the Emaar Investment Park and later the Burj Downtown, was a plus.
Cons
Direct management had no respect for employees in certain departments. Again in certain departments the management did not seem to have a hold on things. Hiring and subsequently promotions, seemed to be on the basis of who-knows-who, which is generally the case everywhere but then packages and titles were awarded accordingly as well, to individuals who could not possibly have contributed ( having been recruited from a different country) as effectively to products and processes as one who has had similar or the same experience in the UAE.The cover-your-bottom and hand-off policy was very much prevalent, with work undoubtedly suffering in the process. There also seemed to be barely any accountability for senior management.
