    I enjoyed my time here

    I worked at Nordstrom Rack

    Pros

There was a 25% off employee discount for the position I was working in, and it was a nice discount on already reduced prices, since it was the Rack

    Cons

The people were nice and the management were friendly, so overall I enjoyed my time here, even though it was a seasonal position

I have been working at Nordstrom Rack full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

friendly management , love the atmosphere, casual dressing all the time, large opportunity for growth. you get paid training. everytime you open up a credit or debit care you get $5 cash . even if they do not get approved you will still get $5 cash.

    Cons

long hours , even though they give you great hours, be prepare to work. those hours are extremely long or they may feel very long. you have to deal with very rude customers sometimes. but the good always out weight the bad

  5.

It was fast paced and heavily focused on rewards but I loved how close I was with the store team.

    Cons

Must sell on the rewards, scheduling is very hectic.

Management is better than most in retail

I have been working at Nordstrom Rack part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The management is really nice, most of the people who work there are fun.

    Cons

Can be really overwhelming when busy. Scheduling doesn't always make sense - end up short staffed when more people are needed. It is a lot of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some things make no sense at all - like stuffing the floor full of merchandise to the point where it is nearly impossible to keep it looking decent, and is a nightmare to find things for both the staff and the customers. It is the store policy to have everything on the floor - but it can make it complete chaos.

I have been working at Nordstrom Rack

    Pros

Good pay, flexible schedules, positive, friendly and fun work environment

    Cons

You have to continually clean up after people who throw stuff on the floor and misplace stuff when you try to keep it clean and neat, I think the registers are confusing its a lot to learn, I hate the mobiles they make us use to check out customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Yes if you work hard and show managers you want to move up.. u can move up fast

I have been working at Nordstrom Rack full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

higher starting pay for associates, good benefits, great company culture and management, they put a lot of responsibility in your hands from the get-go which can be a little intimidating but is great if you plan to advance with the company. If you prove you're reliable and express the desire to grow with the company, you will. I've worked in retail for a long time and the starting pay for this job was much higher than any other. It's not tons of money, but it's better than a lot of other places.

    Cons

very busy, lots of multi-tasking, the employee discount could be higher...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Always be open about the fact that this job is busier than other retail jobs. I love the "use your best judgement" mentality.
