I have been working at Nordstrom Rack full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    pretty easy going.

    Cons

Just remember working at the Rack means customers are going to make a mess of your displays you spend hours on cleaning, organizing, and putting together everyday. Scheduled hours flip and flop a lot, from closing to opening the store the next day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why are we selling tons of size F and E bras for example Why is merchandise so crammed together that it is easy for customers to make a total mess of the departments. This is a reason I avoided shopping there before I started working at Nordstrom.

I worked at Nordstrom Rack part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It was a great experience, I learned a lot, the training was easy and the benefits were great.

    Cons

They were not willing to change my schedule to just days, because I have night blindness, and was on short term disability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider taking care of special needs for your employees.

I have been working at Nordstrom Rack full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I got hired fairly quick. I get played 10.45 an hour. The have health insurence, dental, and life. I get between 30 an 40 hours a week, which is amazing. I don't have to cover any of my tattoos, or take out my piercings, which I have a lot of. The managers are pretty cool. Also you get 20% off everything in the store.

    Cons

Its just a lot of bending down picking stuff up, an putting things back, so after so many days of working you're pretty sore. But you get used to it eventually.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The training could have been better. I had to learn a lot on my own.

I have been working at Nordstrom Rack full-time

    Pros

Great starting pay and many opportunities for raise, there are no time requirements for moving up within the company, also Nordstrom tends to hire very good friendly people.

    Cons

Work ethic is not always the driving factor with promotions, often times favoritism plays a large role in who moves up and often over-shadows hard work.

I worked at Nordstrom Rack full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Learning new designers, merchandise, and meeting great customers!

    Cons

In my experience, work environment wasn't professional, a lot of gossiping instead of actual work, but learned a lot about fashion trends and visual merchandising. Good experience.
