    Pros

Believe in personal growth, open door policy, pay based on commission

    Cons

Retail hours, you make a lot more in commission depending on the store you work at

    Pros

It is a great place to learn and grow wether you want a career in retail or while you are pursuing education in something else, or just looking for work.

    Cons

I personally can not think of any downsides of working at Nordstrom. I guess the only thing is that if you are looking for promotion opportunities you really need to be mobile, because in cities like Orlando a lot of the people in management positions are there because they want to be in and stay in Orlando for family reasons, or personal reasons. There fore they are not mobile, and the positions do not open as often. So like I said, if you are looking to stay in Orlando, moving up in the company could take some time.

My experience was bittersweet, a way to make money while having a hectic school schedule.

    Pros

The money and commission was very good compared to other jobs.

    Cons

Working late nights and long weekends.

    Advice to Management

Be more professional, and don't make personal friends at work you gossip with about other employees and managers.

    Pros

Great discount on merchandise for employees. The people are very supportive and good to work with. The location was great being central in down town Seattle. You are never bored and the days go by really fast.

    Cons

The balance of the work load and time needed to complete was excessive. Mixing involved analytical type of project work with production support on a tier 1, high maintenance application is not the ideal and leads to burn out rather quickly.

    Advice to Management

Separate production support from the project team except on necessary escalation situations will result in higher quality of project work and less push out on delivery.

    Cons

the long hours. On your feet constantly. Low level education of peers. Young workers getting younger. Giving up many years of holidays spent with your family due to work expectations.

    Pros

Got to learn about how to combine different clothing styles. Some people do help you build your customer basis.

    Cons

Very competitive and cutthroat. Some people will flat out steal your customers and that is a problem. There are some people will come to different departments that do not know about that specific department and sell the customer wrong things.

    Advice to Management

The economy stinks and every single persons sales numbers are down, by getting rid of people who are under the bar and replacing them do not help.
