I have been working at Nordstrom full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Appointment based work, basically a self-managed position, freedom to work the entire store and other stores, fast-pased and never a dull moment, pathway to a management position.

    Cons

If you are not capable of building and maintaining lasting relationships with your customers, you will find this position very difficult to be successful in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the amazing work you do everyday! I love this company and am so pleased to be a part of it.

    I worked at Nordstrom

    Pros

    Great team work
    Make your own salary
    Good hours/full time
    Loved my department managers
Learning to be more connected to Customers

    Cons

Can be competitive since its commission
Department seemed ignored by store manager
The merge of the departments was ugly

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would keep an eye on your employees and just make sure they are trained as they should be. Also let them wander to different departments for a short time so they can sell more if its slow and that also helps when there are events and we need to sell in different departments. Allow us to ask you questions even if it is the same question over and over.
