Pros
Always working on leading edge technology. Working with competent teammate highly knowleadge in their field. Worked with customers that loved the company.
Cons
The incompetency of the top management that brought this top companies to bankrupcy destroying thousand of career in same time.
Advice to Senior Management
Do not repeat these mistakes on your next assignment. Try to upgrade the company you are working for not to destroy it.

great technical work environment, most managers were good, stimulating, good benefits, diverse possibilities for career progression.

With perks like an on site bank, gym with rock climbing wall, meditation spaces, etc., it seemed like the org really supported its employees.

In such a large company, it's easy to find yourself in an unimportant position in an unimportant department in an unimportant arm of the org.

I would advise the Nortel Networks management team to focus less on cute perks designed to attract employees. There was a lot of waste.

Excellent compensation and benefits with bonus structure for retaining employees. Opportunities abound with so few people left to do all the work that needs to be done.

The company is downsizing having been in bankruptcy protection for the past 18 months. Your job is limited in time by the eventual closure of the company.

Keep the ship running in the current direction, ensure the retention bonuses are paid out to the employees who have remained.
