    Pros

Good pay , flexibility and career advancement.

    Cons

Filed chapter 11 in 2009. Even through chapter 11 the company did what they could for their employees.

    Advice to Management

Management needed to do a better job at investing money which led to chapter 11.

    Pros

Bend-over-backwards service to customers at throwaway pricing

    Cons

Company went under because lots of stuff were given away for free

    Advice to Management

It is not sufficient that we turn up back-bone networks at customer premises, it is equally important that we develop one ourselves!

    Pros

Great company to work for before the bankruptcy

    Cons

Poor Executive Level Management which killed this company

    Advice to Management

If it had been better managed on the executive level, it would probably still be a great company today.

    Pros

Excellent benefits, good salaries, most employees I interacted with were given plenty of freedom. The facilities were nice (outside of all the cubicles), and they had a nice dining hall.

    Cons

The company was really struggling financially and layoffs were happening with frightening regularity. Some (actually most) of their offices in the RTP area were huge cubicle farms.

    Advice to Management

I guess it's too late for it to matter now.

  11. Outstanding company to work for.

    Pros

Nortel is the best company I have worked for because it had a great culture built around its employees.

    Cons

    Can't think of any cons.
