I have been working at North Seattle Community College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, friendly and helpful co-workers, driven students, grant-writing opportunities, research opportunities, union, no micro management.

    Cons

Salary, administrator sluggishness, space for events, office-space, IT department, email threads, parking costs, grounds attractiveness

    Advice to Management

The Seattle median salary is $64000. The college should strive to have its faculty earn more than this figure.

I have been working at North Seattle Community College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Helping students, relaxed atmosphere, great work/life balance

    Cons

Extremely low pay, poor communication with district, antiquated processes and ideas

    Advice to Management

The pay is so low it makes it impossible to stay, and everyone is working above their pay-grade due to budget cuts. My advice is to move into the current century and try to retain young, talented employees so you don't get left behind. Keep up the great work with fostering diversity and encouraging a healthy work/life balance for your employees, it goes a long way!
