I have been working at North Shore Medical Center part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Learning environment. This is a teaching hospital so there are many opportunities to be exposed to a great deal of learning scenarios. The culture between the RNs is very team oriented.

    Cons

Some of the politics. Every company has issues with the politics that go on, but it seems as though some of the managers make promises they don't always follow through with.

I have been working at North Shore Medical Center as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

I work in a private practice within the clinic itself; it's very nice because the physicians in the clinic are gregarious, respectful, and good at what they do. I've heard that's not the case all around the hospital's other clinics, but otherwise the quality of care is top-notch, site management is pretty generous and benefits are above average.

    Cons

HUGE lack of opportunity for advancement. Definitely disappointing especially because it seems like a conglomerate of the same people have been in charge for a while.

I had a good experience with this employer.

I have been working at North Shore Medical Center as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The commute is great, it takes me 20 minutes to get there from home. Being a floating administrative assistance gives me exposure to the whole hospital and I can learn lots of things and hopefully end up full time some day

    Cons

The per diem hours. I need a more stable income. As a per diem employee you do not receive benefits or any of the perks that the company offers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire me full time. I can bring a lot to the table. I'm driven and reliable and I like working with people. You will be glad you hired me.

I worked at North Shore Medical Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good staff, They would accommodate for school and only 3 days 12 hours shifts.

    Cons

Pay rate was low for the amount of work, nurses and doctors did not work at all like a team and forgot we are there to serve patients and not the legal department of the hospital.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lack of appropriate staffing creates negative feedback and customers that will never come back and puts professionals at risk of losing their license because profits come first.
