    Pros

Good experience to learn what not to do

    Cons

Director treats employees extremely unprofessionally. I cannot believe he has not been sued to death. You cannot scream at employees and belittle them and expect to have an effective workforce. No supervision yet everything is micromanaged. Someone ELSE develops your Treatment Plans! Oh watch out for their habit of forging signatures and backsigning

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting the "Yes, Man" and start looking for real skills.

    An Uncomfortable Place To Work

    I worked at NorthEast Treatment

    Pros

Good experience in the field as it is a well known agency.
Prepares you well for work load required in the field.
No micro-managing and you are left to work independently.

    Cons

Director was belittling and disrespectful. He would often leave the door open while raising his voice to correct staff so others would hear and has been known to name call.
Large amount of nepotism and lack of professionalism among superiors as many individuals are promoted in less than six months through friendships in spite of staff members in the same position for one year or more. Also many staff members will attempt to enforce rules (ie. dress code) but are seen the following day breaking such rules.
Minimal training was provided and many are left to handle up to 20 clients in one group room on their first full day.
Continuous changes to case load and schedule without prior notice as clients are constantly being transferred to other staff which does not help the therapeutic process. Many clients are left discouraged especially those who need help the most.
Limited support from supervisors and team leaders in regards to client issues including inappropriate and non-complying clients. In spite of asking for help many tell staff to "deal with it" with little guidance or support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Prepare new hires with an extensive tour and handbook of what is outlined not only by the NET but by the state and CBH. Also make them more aware of continuous schedule changes so they can also prepare themselves to handle clients. Provide potential for growth and more titles individuals can advance to especially those with extensive experience in the field. Also ask more questions and develop greater rapport with staff to increase morale and fade the large divide felt between team leaders and counselors.

I have been working at NorthEast Treatment

    Pros

One of the best things about working for NET is the family atmosphere created by the employees in our various programs.

    Cons

One of the most common shortcomings expressed by NET employees is the limited ability to advance within the company into supervisory roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a pay structure that allows staff to receive annual raises in order to help with retention across the agency.

  7.

Don't let anyone fool you about the NET

    Pros

Good resume builder as a therapist.

    Cons

Little to no support from supervisors and administration.
The administration does not care about the clients, and such places the counselors in very trying situations.
Constant schedule changes and therefore no consistency for staff.
    No opportunity for raises.
    No supervision.
Administrative staff lies often and is highly manipulative.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with value if you want anyone to stay.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
