I worked at NorthMarq Capital full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

People in the trenches are good to work with, are thoughtful, smart and kind. Nice company picnic. Lots of free lunches and beverages. Many other good management groups to work for.

    Cons

Expected to work 50-60 hours per week or no bonus Zero life work balance. High health insurance cost. Servicing multiple businesses. No business aligment for IT services. Denied training and user conference groups. Does not allow working from home. No desire to implement process improvement across 5 companies. All companies are numero uno. Erroneous double talk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Conduct sensitivity training and violence (bullying) in the workplace. Learn to value other experienced opinions. Stop bad mouthing team resources in private and humiliating team members publically.

    Pros

The PTO and benefits are decent. There is some flexibility but that limited. Communication as a whole company is good but lacks in individual departments

    Cons

If you like to be talked down to and made to feel stupid by management than this is where you should work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more receptive to new or different ways of doing things. There are many different learning styled

I have been working at NorthMarq Capital full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Stable, Great Benefits, Collaborative, Fair Pay, Good Place to Learn, Very Experienced Production Team, Plenty of PTO

    Cons

No career movement as an analyst. Upper management is too hands-off or busy to keep in touch with office dynamics (avoids confrontation at all cost). Producers are very high maintenance and often don't know what they want. Very little constructive feedback.

I worked at NorthMarq Capital full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing I can think of right off hand.

    Cons

To much work, to little pay. Management has no sense of prioritization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take some management classes, little things go a long way in how you treat your employees. You will have constant employee turn over if you don't treat people like you value them.

    Pros

Great place to learn the ins and outs of mortgage brokerage. Lots of contact with developers and various property types. Good benefits, above average vacation time.

    Cons

Very limited ability to move up... only get a title change and a small salary increase (in good years). No ongoing development of skills. No recognition for work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize and reward talent in a meaningful way. Develop opportunities within the organization to grow. Tie bonus to production in a straightforward manner.
