    Pros

    This is truiy a tough environment - survival of the fittest. This does benefit the survivor underlying there are some sound processes and practices. Commercially a place to trainn and to learn. Leads the survivor to be resourceful. Good for the self starting entrepreneur as a training school! Camaraderie despite dog eat dog environment.

    Cons

    Constant management by fear; no real structure;

    Advice to Management

    Need to invest in new products and technologies as legacy markets are in decline; incumbent management need to stand back and review practice as this is counter productive

    I worked at Northamber full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    If you're starting a sales career, this will be the hardest part of you career. From here it will only get easier anywhere. And I mean anywhere. I managed to get a contract (which never happens anymore due to constant fear of the company closing) and it has taught me everything I should not do in a sales environment. If a prospective employer, headhunter or recruitment agency sees that you have worked here longer than a year then you will be guaranteed work.

    Cons

    This is a cut throat environment and you will have orders and accounts stolen almost as if in a workforce imagining of the Wild West. Constant pressure and reminders that failure could lead to impending P45 letters. Terrible management, no structure whatsoever. Just terrible. Grueling hours, and no benefits of being an employee. Sandwiches in the only lunch machine are no longer subsidized.

    Advice to Management

    Give proper structure to training and career pathways. Make sure employees feel valued. Credit where it is due. Manage.
