I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They try to be professional. Key word: "try". Understanding of family situations, etc. Decent salary for the area. But not for your expertise.

    Cons

Terrible management. Only professional, maybe 60% of the time. Play favorites on everything from scheduling, to telling different people about new benefits. Extremely stressful, and management/leads do nothing to help with it. Employees get lied to, but if you see an employee take it up with management, they're gone within weeks. The worst is the show they put on when CEOs come in to visit. Its borderline hilarious the difference in how they act. And they WILL NOT give good references if you leave for better opportunity, so do not let future employers call them. This was the case with 8+ people i know that worked and left there. They made it as hard as possible to leave, because they cant find skilled people to fill their positions (contracted positions especially)

    Advice to Management

Realize the importance of a team. Dont just talk about it, be about it. Dont think your employees wont see you play favorites, etc.

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent salary. Meaningful work. High ethics.

    Cons

Harsh work environment with tiny cubicles, endless noise, cold rooms, limited light, endless firedrills. Many lost weekends, holidays, vacations, and evenings due to 24/7 culture that has no work-life boundaries.

    Advice to Management

Reduce layers of management and focus on achieving priorities on time.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Every day is different and there is a frenetic pace to the monthly financial rhythm. If you're doing it right you'll never be bored.

    Cons

Executive management structure is too heavy and there is no good system for wealth distribution. It all stays at the top of the corporate pyramid.

    Advice to Management

Share the wealth down to the professional level more. Make sure people feel appreciated and valued that seem to be going away the past few years.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

No A&P required. No Tools required. good plane to work on. you get to work in a hanger (no AC con) most managers will work with scheduling conflicts without having to use your pto.

    Cons

Gaurentted no pay raises, tools are cheap and limited. You have to be on a special list to move into management. Your co-workers will steal your stuff and lie to your face, (not to leave out throw you under the bus just for a little recognition) the managers stick up for their friends and cover up violations but are quick to get rid of people.

    Advice to Management

Stay away from this place if your looking to advance, it may be good experience but the managers here will only tell you what they want you to know, unless you know the right question to ask, you may actually get some useful information.
