    Pros

Provides decent healthcare for community. Provides employment opportunities for various disciplines.

    Cons

Talent Acquisition sub par, too many cooks in kitchen, hiring process unorganized with conflicting follow up for internal transfers and new hires. Employee Relations sub par, department not functioning as typical large healthcare organization ER department should. EEO/AA discrimination exists at all campuses to high degree obstructing qualified applicants from being hired, current staff from chances at deserved promotions and/or transfers, and encouraging terminations for minorities while others receive no reprimand for the same or more serious mistakes or violations.

    Advice to Management

HR needs qualified leadership staff, get help from a focus group, get staff trained.

    Pros

They pay very well, have many variety of flexible shifts and fields of specialty. However, if you're ever a victim of discrimination or harassment prepare yourself to hire a GREAT employment attorney.

    Cons

Many department follow the policies, rules and regulations. Most of the managers follow the EEOC regulations and teat all of their employees equal.

    Advice to Management

Northside Hospital merged with GCS and ACC. Along with the affiliated entities man issues of discrimination became a pattern of acceptable behavior. Human Resources will protect the hospital before taking corrective action to management.

    I worked at Northside Hospital

    Pros

Great pay, great facility, great staff.

    Cons

Very political. I was working as PRN until we got a transfer from the main facility, an employee who 'wasn't getting along with anyone but yet couldn't get fired'. Despite being fully staffed, another full-time position was created especially for her and I was let go.

    Advice to Management

    Encourage new employees to stay

    Pros

Salary, OT, incentive pay, each unit feels more like family, close knit coworkers

    Cons

Constantly understaffed, floating is a frequent occurrence and some units don't treat you as well as they treat their own, overworked, amount of charting is insane, never have enough PCTs, turnover rates are high, burnout is frequent

    Advice to Management

We need more staff! Quit floating everyone all of the time, and staff would be more likely to stay. We also need more PCTs on the floor. As a nurse, I double and triple chart the same things over and over, and end up doing my job and the PCT job on a consistent basis... It's too much and it's exhausting.
