    Pros

Solid leadership and organizational structure. Safety and quality always comes first. Employees takes great pride in the work they perform and the product manufactured is amazing, there is a great continues improvement culture.

    Cons

Their annual performance reviews simply provides feedback on your manager perception of your work they do not go a step further to try to help develop their employee by identifying strengths and weaknesses and help them be a more effective and productive.

    I worked at Northstar Aerospace

    Pros

Good Pay. Excellent benefits. Overtime (straight time) for some salary workers.

    Cons

Poor leadership. Upper management scared of the union and lets them run the company. No room for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get control of the company from the union.

I worked at Northstar Aerospace full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The work is interesting and challenging, tooling adequate

    Cons

Management is gutless, a lot of harrassment of other employees happens & they don't stand by the good employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the good empoyees, not the whiners, stand by your employees and follow through on your promises. If someone calls to see if a former employee has worked there, give dates only, not the reason they left, you could destroy someones career

    Pros

The President/CEO does not hover over Sr Managers. He let them do what they are supposed to do. Their Jobs. What he does do is keep them on task to insure timely completion of projects and issues

    Cons

Union environment causes many problems when trying to complete projects in a timely manner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are still some cultural issues within the senior management team as to flow down and a total buy-in & support when projects are in the implementation phase. Support your managers that's why you hired them.

I have been working at Northstar Aerospace

    Pros

(Some of) The people are the best reason to stick around.

    Cons

There is favoritism running rampant. The company does not recognize talent and has lost many people that could have helped them be successful. Many changes necessary in various areas, but management has not acted in ways to target the actual problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review salaries of employees that have been through the good and bad of the bankruptcy. People will leave (and have left) if they are not valued and shown that they matter to the company in some fashion. Evaluate members of management for competency in their roles.

The advancement of technology around the organization is really lacking.
Getting new ideas implemented can be a chore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at Northstar Aerospace

    Pros

Good Team spirit, interesting product line within an aerospace manufacturing environment, friendly people who are willing to help and are supportive.

    Cons

There really are no downsides to working at Northstar. The company is a traditional company that has been involved in the manufacture of aerospace components for many years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership at Northstar has gone through some changes over the years what with the implementation of lean manufacturing to name a few. Keep investing in the people as they are the best resource.
