    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Northwestern Medicine full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Staff very helpful and supportive of one another. Supplies are always available. Nurse to patient ratio is acceptable and float pool is usually available if needed. Lots of opportunities for career advancement.

    Cons

Not as many weekends off as I would like in a scheduling period. While RN staffing is good, sometimes PCT staffing is not as good.

    Advice to Management

Orientation period could be a little bit longer. Look closer at PCT staffing and focus on making sure it is consistent and adequate for patient population.

I have been working at Northwestern Medicine full-time

    Pros

There is no lack of work surrounding Northwestern on the professional side. Seems there are always projects that need to be accomplished and no shortage of client wants.

    Cons

Things tend to move slowly. While the client may move fast, the decisions surrounding what can be done, along with what actually can be done, tend to move slowly until the 11th hour. There are also a lot of compartmentalization in that if you need an interface to accomplish X, then you have to put in a request to that team, thus you become the client in that situation and are waiting for movement on the other end.

    Advice to Management

Directors should be in more contact with the employees and fight for salary increases and promotions.
