    Pros

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a prestigious company to work for. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the resources are endless.

    Cons

There's a lack of opportunity for advancement and very little raises given. Not much appreciation shown to employees, no incentives for hard work and dedication.

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for advancement, stop the focus of nursing only, provide raises that are appropriate to Chicago cost of living.

    Pros

Department has a larger budget than most hospitals in Chicago, so supplies and drugs are readily available.

    Cons

    Poor leadership in this department.
Outdated technology, which is consistently breaking down.

    Advice to Management

This department needs a complete and total overhaul.

Miscommunication with management, workload much more difficult when frequently short staffed.

    Pros

What a great place to work! The people are awesome - kind, compassionate, and caring.

    Cons

It was really hard to work with IT on anything. Calling the help desk was a joke. One of my employees was not able to do her job for 2 days because her computer was broken. Every time I called to escalate I was told someone would call me back and no one ever did.

    Advice to Management

Decisions were slow to be made, even easy decisions. Sometimes there was too much consensus building and data analysis when it wasn't warranted and this slowed down progress.

    Pros

Good benefits, fun people to work with

    Cons

Changes are very slow bureaucratic. Their bottom line is press Ganey ratings and $$$ negotiate time on cal and how many working weekends BEFORE you sign up.
