    Pros

This is the 1st hospital I started working. It is great place to work, people are friendly, wants to help, good orientation programs, always strive for better technology.

    Cons

since affiliation with Danbury hospital, many things are changing. People are leaving jobs

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Explain to them why you are doing what you are doing. Make them part of your mission and vision

    Pros

Clean environment, able to join the union if you're a staff nurse, employee bonuses when hospital meets their HCAPHS goal, valuable resources such as Resource nurse to be able to call upon.

    Cons

Not knowing what to expect with the merge with Western Connecticut health network. There are rumors about changes coming to the Union and changes to the schedules nurses are allowed to work.

    Pros

    People friendly one on one.

    Cons

Group dynamic less than optimal. NH is a great community hospital. Understand corporate affiliation the trend, but this comes at a cost where getting things done involves too many layers and players. Org chart is confounding.

    Advice to Management

Too much duplicative effort working at cross purposes; would benefit from better coordination, definition & delegation of duties at all levels.

    Pros

Great pay, great cafeteria, friendly coworkers

    Cons

Company merged with Danbury hospital, laying all higher paying salaries off to hire new employees under Danbury with much lower pay, upper management doesn't care about its employees

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees more, and not the numbers and money, its the employees that keep the company running and bringing patients back.
