    Pros

At one time they had a good pipeline, but now with generics, even those under concent decree they are shuttering US manufacturing. Pros are good salaries for those willing to donate thier life to them.

    Cons

Leaving the United States. Cow towed to the FDA who is allowing a generic under concent decree make Diovan. Essentially the FDA audits the big guys to death or until they leave the US.

    Advice to Management

Stop the greed. Stop cowtowing to the ACA and the FDA as thier job is to audit the big guys to death and not so much on the smaller guys.

    Pros

    Good foundation of experienced workers
US campus has many amenities that provide time-saving benefits for employees

    Cons

Politics the worst in my 20+ career
Advancement is not based on merit - multi-rater system very biased and subjective
    Lack of inspirational leaders

    Advice to Management

None - still very much a boys club - diversity spoken but not displayed at highest levels.

    Pros

flexible depending in team for WFH.

    Cons

office culture is terrible. 15 hour days are normal but typically 18 hour days plus weekend. Sr. leadership in global oncology runs a top down approach and doesn't want anyone to have input, think or be proactive. any monkey can do the job basically. they don't value employees education, experience - no value added.

    Advice to Management

Wake up, it shouldn't be a dictatorship.

    Pros

HUGE Company with amazing resources & oportunity.
Good current products & great pipeline
A LOT (lot, lot) meetings. The are extremely helpful and many decisions are made. Many Key forms, spreadsheets & reports are created to help guide the reps.

    Cons

The yearly performance review fiom is HUGE &confusing-&was called absolute ridiculousness by the author of "The One Minute Manager"Ken Blanchard- who was our keynote speaker.
He also said that cutting the Bottom 20% of your sales force every year has idiocy. We managers gave him a standing ovation. .. and he was never seen or heard from again.
The administration load is so extreme that rep are more concerned with checking boxes on the spreadsheet them selling---crazy, absolute cra cra.
If you are good at admin, email, creative writing, excel (most imp. thing a Mgr gotta know-says my VP) ppt, and politocs- you sir/madam will make a great manager! Forget selling/trainimg/coaching- focus on covering your 6.

    Advice to Management

Continue to drastically cut the sales force- you still have 3 times to many
focus on true selling skills & training. (Remember how much a disaster "Drop Everything & Sell" was? It produced More admin!!)
Treat ALL teams wIth respect- even mass market teams.

    Pros

    Flexible working time
I don' t see any other pros, i am sorry

    Cons

IT Hub in Prague is just a mess: no meeting rooms, very old IT equipment, IT infrastructure is a disaster.

Main tools are not working, very loud and messy open space, no career growth (unless you are a good friend of your Manager).

Too much politics, no real job activities.

    Advice to Management

Heads of IT should change job. Definetely

    Pros

The company offers good benefits and job opportunities. The work place in Basel is also quite nice, but it can also be considered too "fleshy" for a pharma company.

    Cons

Unfortunately it is a company of double standards, this is in particular true for upper management. It is a large company and you are simply only a number.
The turnover of managers is very high
You are working in environment of fear - people are afraid to raise their hands ...
    There is NO work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Create a clear and flatter structure with clear roles and resposibilities

    Pros

Located close. Good benefits. flexible work schedule

    Cons

Poor leadership, harrass non degreed people. Poor HR dept. Lack of vision. Create a poor working enviroment. After employment was told they would inform. me to when med. & other benefits ended. I found out when I tried to fill prescription. Total lack of respect. Would not recommend this non caring company to my worst enemy.

    Advice to Management

    Get some management.
