Good Place to work

Process Maintenance Tech (Current Employee)
Clayton, NC

I have been working at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Industries full-time

ProsGreat benefits - they put 8% of what you make in your 401 K even if you don't contribute anything. If you put in 2% from your own pocket they bump their contribution to 9%. They start you off with 120 hours of vacation, 40 hours of PTO, and 3 floating holidays. There's a pretty decent gym. There's even a company doctor there two days a week, the list goes on. Also there's a great bunch of people there, some of the best I've ever worked with.

ConsMaintenance techs work for the production department, so you'll spend most of your time as a glorified operator. Advancement is sluggish at best, at least on the aseptic side, unless you want to change jobs. Occasionally there are good opportunities to advance to some pretty good engineering tech jobs, and even full fledged engineering jobs, but those are few and far between. If you want to migrate away from tech work into management, there are more opportunities . Salaries are a lower than most pharma jobs in the triangle, and the raises don't keep up with
inflation.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to make the tech jobs more technical and less operator oriented.

Great place to work

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Clayton, NC

I worked at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Industries full-time for more than 8 years

ProsGreat place to work. It's a place you can stay at for a lifetime almost. Plenty of opportunity for growth and development. Very family oriented.

ConsIt's 24x7 manufacturing, so depending on the job, there can be some long shifts. Of course they are FDA regulated, so at times it gets a bit testy when the FDA arrives for inspections. But that is the same at all pharmaceutical companies.

Good place to work.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Industries

Prosbenefits and work/life balance are very good. The leadership really cares about the people who work at the plant. Danish company.

ConsDanish company which means that there are very few opportunities above the plant level. Very few foreigners in high levels in the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementI really do not have anything to add for this topic. I think things are fine at the plant. Thanks.
