I have been working at Novum Pharmaceutical Research Services full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You will learn a lot in the TE process.

    Cons

The salary. Period. Advancement opportunities are slim but the salary is low for the amount of work we do. All of my colleagues that I began with have moved on and now I am exiting the company as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have competitive salaries to keep people on staff.

I have been working at Novum Pharmaceutical Research Services part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There are two reasons that I stay working here, the first one is my coworkers most of them are really great, the second is the ability to specify days off that you need.

    Cons

Management is the downfall of working here
its like there are two different companies under this one roof, the staff and the management including those who are called "study managers" (wannabe managers) and those that are recognized as "associate study managers" also wannabes it seems as though when you turn a corner one of them is hiding behind a door to try to catch you in some kind of fault just so they can run upstairs and make a name for themselves by telling what they saw. I could go on and on about what happens here. To sum it up, stay away! they will make you feel welcome when you come in for an interview but as soon as your in for a hellish nightmare of back stabbing and public humiliation by a manager. I'm not stupid, I'm leaving soon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

SUPPORT THE STAFF! WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING WE ARE ABLE TO RUN STUDIES WITHOUT THE CHILDISH MICROMANAGING TECHNIQUES THAT IS PRACTICED HERE. THERE ARE MANY VERY GOOD EMPLOYEES HERE BUT WE ARE ONLY RECOGNIZED FOR OUR FAULTS, GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF THAT DARK CAVERN AND UNITE WITH THE CLINIC STAFF AS ONE "TEAM" THE SAME TEAM FOR THE BETTER GOOD OF NOVUM AS A WHOLE.

    Pros

You can be easily hired and acquire clinical research skills that you can use at other CROs

    Cons

Extremely poor communication between staff and management and between departments. A lot of backstabbing and sabotaging among employees. Favoritism rules and there is little to no advancement. Poor salary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve communication. Follow human resources policies. Enforce the rules with fairness and stop promoting unqualified employees and stop hiring unqualified employees

I worked at Novum Pharmaceutical Research Services

    Pros

Easy to learn, as the studies are all identical in structure. Documentation is very basic.

    Cons

Bad- and I mean scary bad- employees are not disciplined. This is not a place to work if you have a brain and want to use it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Before you hire managers, make sure they can effectively manage staff. Then make sure they actually do it.
