Pros
Lots to learn. lots to see
Cons
its closed? So you can't work there anymore
Pros
Good salary compensation. Standardization of work process. Job rotation. Work life balance. A company that did not lay off any employee during down time, they cared about their employee even in closing down. Promoted constant challenge to work.
Cons
Not up to dated computer technology
Promotion by seniority rather than competence.
Old company management and mentality.
No flexibility in work hours.
Advice to Senior Management
A lot of management should learn to respect their subordinates when the company promoted respect to peer. They should update their management skill from time to time
Pros
Strong team work, good suggestion program, rewarding job building good quality Toyota products. Very easy to work on projects or model changes.
Cons
Tale of two companies, Truck side was easy going, Car side was very intense, way too much pressure on management staff & team members.
Advice to Senior Management
Back off on the pressure invoked on the car side. Too late now that the plant is closed, but the management staff that went on to other Toyota plants are seeing that those plants do not instill the same intense pressure as the Car side at Nummi.
Pros
Company made great effort to ensure all team members were properly trained to do their job.
Morale of employees was best of all workplaces I've experienced so far.
Cons
Most employees had to endure leadership from incompetent / corrupt managers who were allowed to hold their position even when upper management was knowingly aware of their lack of management skills.
Pros
lots of learning about your job and other jobs within the company.
Cons
Union workers. Lots of noise working in the factory.
Pros
Work relationship with the team members was the best experience - as quoted by many people. The benefits are great and training offered is wonderful.
Cons
We were not able to sustain the business with our partners General Motors and Toyota. Slow to react in certain aspects of the business (purchasing, decision making).
Advice to Senior Management
Support the team members all the way to the end with bonus and governmental support to help get through this transistion.
Pros
- Surrounded by Good/Intelligent workers
- Cafeteria was good
- Great Training
Cons
- Wish i had more supervision on projects
- Felt pressured to do well
Advice to Senior Management
Make an effort to acknowledge employees for doing well
Pros
Nummi had really good pay and great benefits.
Cons
Nummi was a assembly line job. It is very repetative work.
Pros
first thing first, the job you do, is worth every penny on your check, missed that weekly check, living the life, specially if you have family!
Cons
unfortunately company closed down, gm just left the toyota alone, thats how it went to an end, Toyota don't want to pursue their success in this company after 25 years....farewell
Advice to Senior Management
Management really want to close this facility, there nothing that we can do, and the union, is like they just kicked us out of the curve and we on our own, the end of our employment process is not so professional! it is completely dark, you have to find your way how to survive!
Pros
1. Good pay
2. Nice people
Cons
1. Have to be at work at 6 am
2. Have to work in Manufacturing environment (loud)
3. Not much ability to be creative. Very monotonous work
Advice to Senior Management
