Pros
Discounts on vitamins, weekends off, close to home, in Washington,
Cons
lower pay, somewhat high turnover, promotions are difficult, you don't get a review until at least 1 year. When assignments are given, it starts from the top and works it's way down. After all that time coming down the line the assignment could have been done.
Advice to Senior Management
I wish there was more promotion from within. Take a look at the talent you already have. Communication could be better. There are some petty tasks that some people really could do them self and it wouldn't take more than a minute or two but there are many that would just rather pass the task down the line and have someone else do the small task. Such a wast of time!
Pros
constantly hiring
growing company
Yes, they do have nice quarterly parties where they say good things and make promises
Yes, there is some fun, but....
Cons
Very little guidance / feedback
Many "unwritten rules" that can be broken because they are unwritten
High turnover of both salaried and hourly
100's of production workers, dozens of managers, marketing, etc were sacked in past 12 months
Many good hard working people (and I am sure a few bad) have been walked out for unknown reasons. The standard reason is "It's just not working out"
Some think high turnover is to avoid paying benefits (health insurance after 90 days, 401k after about a year)
Many are in constant fear that they could be the next one that is fired!
Advice to Senior Management
Reduce hiring and training costs by hiring and retaining good employees.
Give them feedback about what you want and give them a chance before walking them out the door
Pros
This company is doing so well. So busy and hiring so many people. We just had a big holiday party which most companies are not doing anymore. I have a family to take care of and happy that I have a job. We have a good time at work, fun co-workers and good boss
Cons
We so busy so have to work long hours but good problem to have with bad economy in US
Advice to Senior Management
Make more good decisions so we can continue to be busy and have good job
Pros
If you are down in your luck in finding employment, you are qualified to work here.
If you need a paycheck, this place is better than nothing.
If you like mental pain and anguish, this place is a "10"
Cons
Job security is on being on thin ice each day.
You never know your status within the company until you meet with the GM when he tells you "that it's not working out", even after you have been there working for years with a negative review.
Too much secrecy around, you might just think for Area 51!
Advice to Senior Management
Board should clean house of current management and get some who can run the company more effectively and look to improve work environment.
Pros
location, and a place to work during bad economic times.
Cons
poor pay, horrible management, no stability, poor product, lack of communication, long hard hours, little respect and crappy bonuses.
Advice to Senior Management
instead of getting rid of good, hardworking employees lay off the real problems of the company upper management and owners
Pros
If you are desperate for any job you can find would be the only good reason to work there. During their interview process they don't take you around and give you a tour, so you really don't know what you are getting into.
Cons
Low to no formal communication.
No incentive to do an exceptional job and being recognized for it. If you give inputs, it seems to go in circles then in the round file.
Very secretive so you are not in the know on what's going on.
Not enough parking spots unless you are important enough, otherwise you got to park on street where there are a lot of break-ins.
Most managers are incompetent and are not qualified to what they are doing. That is why the company is so dysfunctional.
Advice to Senior Management
Go find yourself another job you can handle.
Pros
There are no good reasons to work for Nutrition Now Inc.
Cons
The toxic environment at Nutrition Now Inc. is toxic. The owner and Vice President Kate Jones fosters a culture of secrecy and favoritism. NNI has an amazingly high turnover rate in its marketing department, losing well over half of its number over the course of a year. The secrecy that I spoke of before is just plain weird. Doors are shut all of the time, and employees whisper to avoid the glares of upper management. Employees rejoice, literally, when they leave the company, and management refuses to acknowledge that there are problems within the department or the company in general. Stay away at all costs.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay attention to your employees and respect them. Please eliminate the petty and overt favoritism.
