    Pros

Can be an exciting place to work. Offers opportunity to help produce revenue for the firm and share in the upside.

    Cons

Culture and atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. A few bad apples create a toxic atmosphere that demoralize the working environment. Unfortunately management tends to overlook this so witch hunting goes on unchecked.

    Pros

Nuveen has excellent work/life balance, warm culture, values, pretty solid leadership and fantastic benefits.

    Cons

The technology could probably use a facelift, and a little better inter-departmental communication.

    Advice to Management

New employees need a little more company training and direction when coming on board, not just training from immediate supervisors/colleagues.

    Pros

Great benefits and great people. Great potential for advancement if you have a good manager.

    Cons

HR is a joke. It seems that no one in that department is of any help. Especially the middle management level. They are rude and very unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

You need to reorganize and get rid of the middle management that are dead weight. You need to hire managers in HR that are professional and can do their job.

    Pros

The company has a great culture and Mission Statement. They are well-established and have a good name in the industry. They treat their customers and employees fairly.

    Cons

Some of the market conditions have created a situation in which the company's primary stakeholder, Madison Dearborn Partners, have been fishing for a way to get their return on their 7 year old investment. That has created a little bit of internal angst among some job classes.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be open and honest with the customers and employees as you have been in the past. We trust that you'll make the right decisions for both the customers and employees in all aspects.
