Pros
O'Reilly Auto Parts is a very aggressive dual market approach company with lots of opportunity to move up the ladder.
Cons
The average salary is very low as compaired to comprable companies / positions...
Pros
You can gain knowledge in the automotive feild and gain contacts.
Cons
Will never treat you as part of the team. praise is rarely given and discontent runs rampant
Advice to Senior Management
Treat others as you wish to be treated and keep people longer than a year
Pros
very informative you learn alot.
laid back not hard work.
Cons
have to take a million tests that you will never remember. you dont make any money per hour and get paid every two weeks
Advice to Senior Management
keep you promises. dont say you will give someone so many hours per week and expect them to work everyday. and dont get mad when someone asks you a question
Pros
Aggressive, fast paced company that holds great values at it's core. Production based compensation.
Cons
Come pre-loaded with automotive knowledge, if they hire you. Don't be surprised if you do most of the work in the retail environment.
Advice to Senior Management
Leave the old CSK mentality behind.
Pros
Depending on the department you belong to, it can be very hit or miss. Information Systems is about the best department to be in although it's sometimes the black sheep of the company. Most of the people are easy to get along with. Benefits are not too shabby.
Cons
Salary is not competitive at all and the turnover has been accelerating lately. There is a large void in our area for programmers. Instead of increasing salaries to be more competitive, they are resorting to hiring interns and utilizing contracted work.
Advice to Senior Management
Fix the pay structure in Information Systems as it is very broken.
Pros
Lots of support
You are actually in charge of your box!
Cons
Starting pay less than direct competitors.
Advice to Senior Management
Work life and personal life needs to be addressed. Its hardly a paid holiday when you must work 5 days and 45-50 hours during that week.
Pros
Health insurance is half way decent, benefits are not bad regarding vacation, sick days, personal days, paid holidays.
Cons
Low pay,bad raises,no one could live on their salary, alot of back stabbing between employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Give store managers control of their stores and operation decisions.Pay more, supply the equipment needed to get jobs done.
Pros
Friendly co-workers. Strive for corporate culture.
Cons
Low pay, very little employee recognition, enable employees who can't perform essential job functions by dumping the workload on other employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Do not show favoritism.
Pros
great benefits, flexiable with schedule at times, great enviroment, great customers, not micromanaged unless needed, great co-workers, safe, great employee discounts.
Cons
Within the company it is not diverse, people that has been there for years that has the knowledge and experience will not get promoted. and one reason is color they will get looked over and they hire people thats not experienced to become manager over someone thats very experienced.
Advice to Senior Management
Really need to look into the diversity of some stores, and the promotion of employess that don't need it and deserve it.
Pros
Discount for parts, flexible time off and on, reasonable distance from home. Did not take much effort to actually work there. I was able to goof off.
Cons
Terrible management, no incentives, a very thankless job dealing with idiots on the street who think they know everything about their cars.
Advice to Senior Management
You should offer more chances for growth. Give us a reason to want to work hard and we will work hard.
