Too big a company on the whole, but far too many sub- divisions
Constant Restructuring
Inter- company transactions were poor

Pros

They are a large business services company and have locations all over the UK.
Some very dedicated and enthusiastic staff and local/regional management.

Cons

Poor communication from senior management.
Lack of strategic planning and rigorous investigation of proposed changes
Apparent unwillingness to learn from mistakes and disasters
No clear direction for the business as a whole.
Local Management are left trying to fulfill the contracts but there are difficulties when corporate accounts are being extremely pedantic over the payments to suppliers, thus leaving the coal face unable to procure often vital equipment.

Advice to Senior Management

Look closer to home when considering changes to the company structure. The operational sites are working hard and are let down by poor support from the corporate entity.

Give the staff real recognition for their efforts not just rather poor quality certificates.

Invest in the development of management as well as staff.

Take the staff's personal problems properly.

Invest in a decent payroll and rostering system for the staff.
