Former Employee – worked at ODS Health Plan

ProsBenefits, Work days Monday through Friday, paid Holidays, Wage

ConsSupervisor thought she was superior to everyone. Had favorites and showed it. Did not encourage great customer service, but take more calls. Quantity was more important than quality of work.

Advice to Senior ManagementStress quality and value great customer service. Making our members happy or at least helping them to the best of your ability should be #1 priority, not how many calls you take. If quality was stressed, there may not have been so many call backs.

Current Employee – been working at ODS Health Plan

ProsMedical, dental, vision, 401(k), Roth(k)
Low hiring standards - easy to get a job
Flexible and fair paid time off
Casual days once per month
Annual salary reviews

ConsMinimal support from supervisors
Very secretive corporate culture
Company treats employees like children (this is not always without merit, due to the low hiring standards)
Red tape, red tape, more red tape.
Company encourages employee feedback, but feedback is never taken into consideration
Low expectations, even of employees who have been with the company for decades. Makes it very easy to get mind-numbingly bored with your job.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide more challenges and more positive feedback for employees who perform above the expectations. Make "Exceeds expectations" a review field that is actually used. Hire more selectively, and fire more easily.
Vice President of HR needs to move on.
