I have been working at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You are always busy. Facility is being updated with a lot of new decor providing a more modern feel as you walk the halls. Also added a new gym.

    Cons

Not as rewarding to those outside of management. The industry is very cyclical so there are constant ebbs and flows. Hard to advance.

    Advice to Management

You need more people to do the work and fewer delegating.

I have been working at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

ON Semiconductor has some of the best work-life balance opportunities for employees. Employees have work from home options and managers are pretty hands-off when it comes to work schedules. The company is very results driven so as long as your getting your work done, they are really good about letting you manage your own schedule. I also enjoy the sense of community the company has built with community evolvement, employee gatherings, etc.

    Cons

The overall leadership needs a lot of improvement. The company continues to expect more and more from employees but without additional resources. The company runs lean so you have to be ready to wear many hats and juggle multiple tasks at one time.

    Advice to Management

Training needs to be a priority within groups. Managers also need to take more interest in an employee's career paths and developing their team members.

    Cons

    Pros

Good Environment , nice folks around, learned a lot in the first few years

    Cons

Saturated opportunities, not a whole lot of cutting edge technology

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Great place to meet dedicated, hard working and motivated people.

    Cons

Traditional management style. Employees are not valued to their full potential.

    Advice to Management

Management seems to be lacking long term commitment and vision; and seems to be sacrificing long term benefit of the company for short term gain.

I have been working at ON Semiconductor as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

No much work pressure compared to TI or other start ups. Do not need much extra working time. There were little job for me to do everyday when I had the internship there. And 70% of the employee left work at 5 or 5.30PM. More time for yourself.

    Cons

Can't see opportunity. Do this job for the rest of your life. Too many meetings for a design engineer which makes it little time for design considerations. The company don't focus on technology, they focus on marketing: buying and selling companies.

    Advice to Management

Need more time building up the atmosphere.
