I have been working at Oakwood Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Oakwood continues to hire, develop, and retain extraordinary talent. They provide structure while allowing creativity, giving me plenty of opportunity to make a difference.

The people I work with are great. It's truly a team atmosphere - across the globe. There is continuous training and professional development offered as the company evolves to retain it's postion as the leader in the industry. The management team recognize and reward achievements of their associates.

Overall, a truly amazing experience and fantastic company to be a part of.

    Cons

A person who prefers a stable, constant and predictable environment would be frustrated working for a company like Oakwood. The most successful and happy employees at Oakwood are those who thrive in an environment of continous improvement, with a drive for both personal and company success.

I have been working at Oakwood Worldwide full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Most of the employees on-site are friendly so there is a "family-like atmosphere". They offer a decent starting salary with room for improvement and promotion. Schedules can be rather flexible and Oakwood University continues to train and improve employees.

    Cons

Process can get repetitive with the guest calls. It's not so bad if you can concentrate on simply wanting to help the guests but again there will be many similar calls (i.e. Wifi, TV, key bax, parking space).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to innovate with the employees. More flexible schedule options would be ideal. Starting wages should be a little hire or at the very least account for minimum wage increases.

When you work for Oakwood you are a team/family member as opposed to just another associate.

I have been working at Oakwood Worldwide

    Pros

Oakwood is a privately owned company that treats their associates as team/family members. Everybody knows each other on a first name basis. Unlike larger companies that treat you like a number, Oakwood is all about their associates. Everything that has made this company what it is today has come from ideas that their associates have put together not just trickled down from the top.

    Cons

Opportunity for advancement is not as fast as some of today's new work force would like it to be. Although the company is grown, promotional opportunities are few and far between.

    Pros

Autonomy, Great Training, Great Leadership and the ability to travel is pretty great.

    Cons

Seems like the industry is fading out. I also feel like if you don't get the right "mentor" going in "green" will make this a very hard job to be successful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Your doing a great job.

I worked at Oakwood Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent pay and great opportunities to advance if you really want it.

    Cons

Leadership is still learning in some areas of the company. The environment is clicky and a bit high schoolish.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think they are doing a great job. Not everyone would agree but I understand the woes and pitfalls of learning new processes. Advice to unhappy employees would be to have patience and communicate effectively with your management. This job is not for everyone but it was perfect for me.

I worked at Oakwood Worldwide as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great learning environment and internship program. Oakwood creates an environment that nurtures interns to success, and ensure that they get involved in value-add projects that go beyond miscellaneous one-off tasks.

    Cons

No flexibility in clock in, clock out time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great internship program in HR.
