    Pros

Exposed to different ways of managing children. Worked with lots of new and friendly people.

    Cons

    Long day!
Not very high pay, however one doesn't apply to a summer camp job for money, must love kids!

    Pros

    Outdoors a lot.
Working with kids... If you like them.
You're active... Not just sitting at a desk all day.

    Cons

working 60-70 hours a week for below minimum wage.
    Kids don't listen.
    Sunburn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase hourly rage for group leaders to at least minimum wage

I worked at Oasis Children Services full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Met several interesting people, pay was better than competing companies but not great and enjoyed working with interesting co - workers.

    Cons

Difficult to move up the ladder as management places lower staff in a category that is hard to get out of. Management is very clickish. Divisions tend to only mingle with their own division. Long hours and you are not compensated for extra time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect all employes. Provide opportunities for employees to climb up the ladder and lead events.

I worked at Oasis Children Services part-time

    Pros

Very rewarding experience, a lot of great people to work with. Every day is different from the last. If you know how to relax with your co-workers then you should enjoy your time with Oasis.

    Cons

The summer camp days are very long and you might hit a wall around week 5. The pay is also not fantastic, but not terrible either.

I worked at Oasis Children Services full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Some of the Kids are great
    Fun Atmosphere
Majority of the group leaders are awesome
Great Place for a first job especially in childcare

    Cons

Being outside when its really hot
    Low Pay
    Director can be harsh
    Some kids are TERRIBLE

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Screen Group leaders better, some work way to hard while others slack and their groups run wild. Also RUn better background checks on GLs, there was one guy who got fired for exposing himself to the kids, he should've never gotten the job in the first place.

If GLs work their more than 1 year let them choose the division they want to work in, if you develop a repertoire with D2 kids it might be beneficial to have them see a familiar face when they move up to D3.

I worked at Oasis Children Services (less than an year)

    Pros

The staff was decent and being in Central park every day wasn't the worst

    Cons

-The pay was horrendous, salary based--made around $1,300 for the entire summer from 6-6pm
-The camp was disorganized and didn't care much about the staff
-Had little to not breaks even though mandated by law
-Owners decided to fire people towards the end of the summer, as well as moving camp counselors around which minimized tips

I have been working at Oasis Children Services

    Pros

    1. very creative work
    2. a lot of time off
    3. not too difficult, but sometimes a challenging job.
    4. 1 day paid sick day
    5. basic requirements fulfilled, except health care

    Cons

    1. no health/dental coverage
    2. will not give you enough time off
    3. very disorganized
    4. sometimes will not pay for required materials
    5. not enough hours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recommend paying for a basic healthcare coverage package for all of the employees that work here, not just staff that work at the office. it's unfair and morally wrong. Also, you should try to work to organize and let your employees know when there isn't work during off-days. There are a lot of things wrong with this company when you get down to the fine print.
