    Cons

    Pros

Working with the kids. Great co workers

    Cons

Very low pay. The pay is literally 4.25 an hour because it's a stripend. But it below the minimum wage. They will be at lawsuit from Somebody. The upper bosses are a bit annoying here and there.

I worked at Oasis Children Services full-time

    Pros

If you love working with children this is the job for you, If your home from summer break this is the job for you, if you leave home with your parents this is the job for you.

    Cons

Long day and hot days. I think it's funny that they request a background check from their employees when they are paying below min wages... You guys should be happy to have people that will work for you guys. I left within 2 weeks!!

    Advice to Management

You guys should be ashamed and need to pay your employees better. Working with children in the summer is not easy... I do get it.. You guys are in air conditioner office working you have no idea.

I have been working at Oasis Children Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Staff is amazing (a lot of staff appreciation/recreation events throughout the summer) - Location, location, location (Central Park) - Appreciative parents - Opportunity to have fun with staff and children (in the mess)

    Cons

    - Low pay...but if that is an issue for you, you don't actually want to work ANYWHERE

    Advice to Management

    Love thy blues and grays....ALWAYS

    Pros

If you love kids you will have fun, but you are basically a volunteer based off what they pay you.

    Cons

This company uses the stipend to get you to put in maxima hrs without having to pay you over time. they exploit all there employees. Counselors end up making $4.24 an hr or less, and tips for the parents are not enough to even bring the hourly wage close to minimum wage. Bernie does not care about kids he is a greedy person who only looks to increase the profits of the camp by taking advantage of his employees.

    Advice to Management

Get ready for a law suite. Before I left I educated the employees on stipend laws and encouraged them to unionize.

I worked at Oasis Children Services part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company has a very energetic and fun-filled environment. If you REALLY enjoy working with children, this job can be pretty easy. (For college students primarily) Once you are hired and leave a good impression with your supervisions, when you return form school the following summer, you are pretty much guaranteed a job.

    Cons

During your first time working for the company, compensation will be pretty low given the type of work (you get a stipend). Don't worry though because every year you return your compensation increase; not to mention the fact that tips are given to workers occasionally.

I worked at Oasis Children Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Met several interesting people, pay was better than competing companies but not great and enjoyed working with interesting co - workers.

    Cons

Difficult to move up the ladder as management places lower staff in a category that is hard to get out of. Management is very clickish. Divisions tend to only mingle with their own division. Long hours and you are not compensated for extra time.

    Advice to Management

Respect all employes. Provide opportunities for employees to climb up the ladder and lead events.

I worked at Oasis Children Services part-time

    Pros

Very rewarding experience, a lot of great people to work with. Every day is different from the last. If you know how to relax with your co-workers then you should enjoy your time with Oasis.

    Cons

The summer camp days are very long and you might hit a wall around week 5. The pay is also not fantastic, but not terrible either.

    Pros

Some of the Kids are great Fun Atmosphere Majority of the group leaders are awesome Great Place for a first job especially in childcare

    Cons

Being outside when its really hot Low Pay Director can be harsh Some kids are TERRIBLE

    Advice to Management

Screen Group leaders better, some work way to hard while others slack and their groups run wild. Also RUn better background checks on GLs, there was one guy who got fired for exposing himself to the kids, he should've never gotten the job in the first place. If GLs work their more than 1 year let them choose the division they want to work in, if you develop a repertoire with D2 kids it might be beneficial to have them see a familiar face when they move up to D3.

I worked at Oasis Children Services (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff was decent and being in Central park every day wasn't the worst

    Cons

-The pay was horrendous, salary based--made around $1,300 for the entire summer from 6-6pm -The camp was disorganized and didn't care much about the staff -Had little to not breaks even though mandated by law -Owners decided to fire people towards the end of the summer, as well as moving camp counselors around which minimized tips
