    Pros

Work-life balance is excellent, great co-workers and interesting work. Good benefits, decent salary. Corporate makes an effort to keep the workforce informed via newsletter and occasional emails.

    Cons

Uncertainty of follow-on Government contracts. Unclear path for advancement or career progression. Management has the willingness to give employees feedback, they don't have the time.

    Advice to Management

You have a large workforce at the Hanscom AFB client location. They understand the uncertainty of follow-on contracts and yet their anxiety is being met with comments such as "be lucky you have a job right now". There is no sense of loyalty to the company right now, it's every person for themselves. Encourage small groups of employees in different sections of the customer location to get together once a month or once a quarter, have lunch or coffee, get to know each other and forge some solid relationships. Make it a billable hour, set a max limit per employee, something to get people out of their cubicles and get to know other employees and you'll have an even more effective workforce since people are more likely to reach out to those they have a personal relationship with to get the job done.

    Pros

Very family oriented. Felt like a family, and you were proud to up hold their reputation. Allowed to cash in excess vacation without batting an eye.

    Cons

No growth. If a contract failed you were left to your own devices. Took a 15% salary cut. But they kept hiring office staff.

    Advice to Management

stop under bidding. by doing this you undermine your employees. After the original owner sold the company.
Communications from the office also diminished. At times you didnt know who worked there. Raises slowed to non-existence. And after over a decade you were let go without even a cup of coffee.

    Pros

Senior management is very transparent with employees. They are very forthcoming with information relative to the industry. They offer a weekly newsletter that always includes a note from the President of the company. Oasis offers very competitive benefits package; health, dental, 401k, etc. They used to offer bonuses but that ended when the current administration slashed the defense budget.

    Cons

Not so much a con of Oasis, more the industry in general, always uncertainty with contract status with government, especially now after defense cuts

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

Well organized company, HR very efficient and involved. Work with autonomy with primary focus on the needs of the customer. Fair compensation in comparison to others

    Cons

Typical issues with most contractors. Issues with winning contracts based on the others lowballing. Oasis does not do that and I appreciate it.

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on the employee and ensuring that they receive a fair wage for the work that needs to be done.

    Pros

Above average pay considering the task, industry, and location.

    Cons

Little to no growth potential outside of corporate headquarters.
The small business does not have enough new business generation to employ long term team-members in times of contract turnover.

    Advice to Management

Put more emphasis on business development in both current and new markets.

    Pros

Task Leads and managers are very flexible. Peers, customer (AF) are fabulous to work with. The work is challenging and meaningful.
    Benefits are good.

    Cons

It is defense work so if the program you are on gets cut there is a chance you will be out of a job, but it is as stable as any other job these days.

    Pros

Oasis understands the opportunities that working in a gov't support role provide. There isn't much company oversight or support on a day to day basis.

    Cons

I don't think Oasis is any worse than any other support contractor provider. Better recognition for exceptional performance as well as feedback regarding performance would be appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Get out more. The next question on this survey asks if Tom Chelliah is doing a good job at Oasis Systems. I don't know who he is. I don't know many of the Management folks.

    Pros

Interesting work supporting directly a branch of the military.

    Cons

NO sense of belonging to a company as your day-to-day activity is at the customer's location. As such any team spirit or loyalty is to your supervisor (almost always a government employee) and the team made up from multiple contract providers.

    Advice to Management

Look for additional ways to improve communication and foster a sense of com[any.
