    Pros

Excellent experience all around - you learn to solve problems, communicate with lots of different types of people, learn about campaign organizing and strategy

    Cons

Low pay, long hours. Extremely fast-paced environment, lots of menial tasks, but lots of cool opportunities to outweigh the downsides.

    Advice to Management

Campaigns all end, so no opportunities to improve - but keep up the good work, local organizers!

I worked at Obama For America (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Meet a lot of ambitious people -Good stepping stone if you want to continue in politics

    Cons

-Too many ladder-climbers -Paid staff was not looking out for you, or really interested in the campaign, everyone was looking to get their next gig

    Advice to Management

I get that this is essentially a seasonal industry and everyone is looking towards their next job, but stop making everything about keeping your resume together and give back to the staff a little

  11. Presidential Campaign 2012

    Former Employee - Operations
    Former Employee - Operations

    Pros

This was an uplifting, empowering, fulfilling group of people to work with. Working for a political campaign or non-profit group, you can expect your free time to be consumed by your work. Some might consider this as a con. However, if you believe in the cause, it is your life and what you're working towards is worth it. Any challenges are welcome learning experiences.

    Cons

    There were no cons.
